There is a volcanic eruption here in Iceland right now.

The volcano is under the glaciar Vatnajökull and here are some guys that went on a road trip to check it out.

Check out the the stones flying out of the smoke in one of the pictures.

Bazzi,

Translation for you

Left the city on 3 trucks at 5 am thursday, on the 3 day of the erruption. It was obvius that the erruption had slowed down because the smoke ditn´t rice as high as before, we where at the erruption site just before 12:00 at noon. The crossing on tungná was just south of Jökulheimar and was deep, just above 44" tiers, on our way back we found anouther one just 50-100 m south off the first one, wich was much better, the temp was -6° c at the bottom of the glacier, and -10 at Grímsfjall. We had fresh snow about 15 cm deep = 6" . the conditions where good but if it warms up I think it will go much worse. There are a lot of water under the snow, and cracks in the glacier, but it is all mostly wisible. We had only 30 mins of view at the erruption site, and waited for 2 hours for the weather to clear out, but then we gave up. There where around 20 trucks on the glacier.
