Hey guys, just checkin in, I'm gonna have some tranny questions pretty quick, and was wondering if there are any "tranny threads" to ask in. A buddy gave me an R150FA or B, not sure which, but I'm going to mate it to my 1981 4cyl, and would like to know the difference between the two. I believe I need the R151F bellhousing to to so, but I'd like to get some verification from the Toyota Tranny pros on here. I was also planning on ditching the chain drive t-case, and was wondering if I can use 2 older model top shift t-cases with the appropriate adapters of course... Anyways, I'm looking forward to talking tech with you guys... And if anyone knows where I can find an R151F bellhousing, that would be great. Thanks much

Tom

um  you could get a L52HD from Marlin  for about what a bellhousing and the R150 to gear drive adapter would cost
and the L52HD  will bolt up in the stock location with no mods

the R150?  your gonna have to do new driveshafts front and rear to make it work

yeah, I know I'll need new drivelines, but that's the least of my worries with doing dual t-cases, and everything else.

Yeah, I know! Our family business got an '85 one time with full width axles, chevy springs, dual t-cases, a low crawl ratio cam, and some other mods, and it was a cadillac on the trails.

:welcome: to Marland, there are no dedicated transmission threads here but there probably should be (HEY MIKE) just ask the question in one of the tech sections and you'll probably get a better answer than what you may get in this section.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
