10-26 Hammers Trip

Perfect fall day at the Hammers in the mid 90s yesterday. We went out there to test the KOH buggy. The "plan" was to run up Aftershock, down Outer Limits, out to the dry lakebed next to the base, back around to Sunbonnet and be on the road by mid afternoon. The problem with the plan is my 4Runner isn't a buggy and it doesn't like going down Outer Limits. The buggy carnage: nothing, its a buggy. 8) The 4Runner carnage: broken front d-shaft, bent front bumper into the hood, wasted the passenger front fender, bent or broke ALL of the bump stops, lost the front dif drain plug and I think I broke one of the hub gears. And I had a GREAT TIME!

I talked to Jess yesterday. It looks like I am going to have him build a spare shaft for the buggy.
