The way it works, is you pay the initial subscription for your first vehicle ($21.95), then for each vehicle after your first, you ADD vehicles to your subscription.  DO NOT purchase a whole new subscription with a new logon and password.  If you ADD your vehicles, you'll get the "additional vehicle discount".  If you start a new sub, you'll have to pay the $21.95 over again.  So it's $21.95 for your first vehicle for 1 year, then you can add vehicles at the additional vehicle discount.  This is for 1 year from the date of purchase - unless you use the 'DIY4FIVE1' code when purchasing your additional vehicles - that will give you 5 years for $29.95 for 1 vehicle.  You can use that code as much as you want after your first purchase.  As long as you have a current account, you will continue to get the discounted price.  If you let all your subscriptions expire, you will have to pay the initial startup fee again.

This is also explained over in the thread on PBB.
