check the fluid. maybe drain it and check for poo inside.

possibly the pilot also, but not very likely. Lets yank that biotch!! :wrenchparty: Christy can drive the 85. :bolt:

It's a bomb that is only activated when the clutch is depressed. Unfortunately the dummy that put it in didn't make it continuous so when you let the clutch out the timer stops. The trick here is to not depress the clutch so that the timer is not counting. I know how to disable it but that requires several months and constant driving on my part to counter-act the timer. Just drop it off anytime and I'll start driving disabling it immediately. Oh wait it's while your driving it, nevermind sounds like maybe the pilot bearing or chipped tooth.

900parts and labor or what. I hope their gonna do the whole thing and not just put a bearing in it.

Did you laugh, wipe the tear from your eye and say  "no really, what's it gonna cost me?"  :haha:

Luckily I can't afford vehicles I'm not at least partially qualified to work on!

The ticking sound is a bearing ready to try and escape and wreak havoc inside the tranny. My 85 just (about a year ago) did this, and I have to replace 4/6 of the gears in the tranny. Trust me on this one, get it replaced before you hear the heart stopping, stomach wrenching "pop" of that bearing finally breaking free and roaming around the tranny.

X2, I don't think it's the T/O bearing.
