this might be a dumb question but here it goes...will 1.75x.120 wall work for an exo and about how many feet do i need for a simple but nice exo cage?

Is it pipe or tube?

If pipe, make sure you do an EXCELLENT job on triangulation and researching designs. If HREW, DOM, etc., you have a little more flexibility.

Either way, you need to research what you want to figure out how many feet you need.

i would go at least .180 wall  and like Jordan said  do some research,

heres some exo's that i KNOW to work well

a train could fall on that red truck and it wouldnt break,  thats .250 wall tube ( i think :headscratch: )

same as my sliders

No, .120 is fine as long as you put it together correctly. It's all about how you put that jungle gym together. .250 is way overkill.

.250 wall is stupis as hell on a cage thats way too much weight at the top of a rock crawler man......120 is what they build racecars from bro its plenty strong for a crawler

1.75 .120 HREW is good.  that all i use since it is cheap and works well.  it may dent or bend a little with hard impacts but you aren't building a comp buggy.  anything over .120 is overkill.  i can see .250 for sliders but not for a cage.

toy4x4ota

maybe dom for the main hoop but definitely hrew for bracing and everything else

You're correct, but pipe also has a wall thickness. Based on the level of his question, I was trying to cover all the bases.

toyotamobing

its tube...but if its HREW or DOM im not sure yet but i dont care.  ive got an 84 xtra cab pick up truck with marlin F&R bumpers and sliders and i just want to protect mostly the cab and slight fender and bed protection but fenders and beds are easier to replace then a cab...so im thinking of going with 200ft and then useing the extra to build a jungle for my son that converts into a RTI ramp

Whoa... You might wanna check what you're getting. Or is this from a friend? I know DOM is running around $4/foot here and HREW is close behind.

It's your life....You should care...

I used to use HREW when I was working with someone else, and never had any issues other than it denting. But at the same time, it should be done right the first time...

i didnt mean it like that...i know hrew dents but im not worried about dents...im worried about mine and my passengers safty and the overall straightness of my cab.

and yes im getting it from a friend he bought a s**t ton a while back and hes been fabing bumpers and cages and cant seem to make the pile of tube any smaller, and he said since he got such a good deal on it hes going to give me a good deal on it
