4wheelers eat more Bush.  It's one of those two meaning phrases.  My dad had that bumper sticker on his 62 Chev.  I'm for Bush, and I don't feel that I need to justify my reason to anyone else because I don't really care what people think about my decision.  I can't vote though, I turn 18 November 11th.
in the projects nooga, anything goes

Tax Day

Every year an independent tax watch dog group analyzes the average tax
burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is
the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government.

This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has
been since 1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in2000.

Notice anything special about those dates?

Today John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no
explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy
men. Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions,
all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an
old barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000.

Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously
has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.

Only a little over 100 days until the election.

P.S. The company his wife is heir to, H J Heinz, is one of the largest food
manufacturers in the United States, yet 76% of Heinz foods jobs
that used to be in the US are now overseas!!! How could anyone
vote for someone who promises to stop sending jobs out of this
country when his own wife's company is doing just what he says
he will stop??? Are you confused? I certainly am.

I'm feverishly trying to claw my way out of the upper lowerclass. This guy is insane, war record or no war record  :twocents:

Bush paid 41 percent of his 727k income in taxes and donations.  Kerry paid 34 percent of his 395k income in taxes and donations.

Neither men dodged any taxes.  W just made a lot more money.  We have a progressive tax system, both men paid what they were supposed to.

But the major difference is that Bush is a good old fashioned texan redneck and Kerry is a lying, flip-flopping, slimeball.

Furthermore,  The Heinz company merely did what is best for their business.  The tax system, with massive cuts in capital gains and dividends, rewards those who outsource jobs.  Kerry merely wants to make keeping jobs at home a competitive proposition.

As far as I know, Kerry did not say that the middle class pays more taxes now.  He said tax cuts have hurt the middle class by increasing the cost of tuition and healthcare.  These costs disproportionately affect those of middle and lower class.  It costs the same to go to school or go to the doctor no matter how wealthy you are.  (Unless you are really poor and go to the free clinic.)

The statistics are there.  Corporate executive salaries have gone up 22 percent in the past four years while wages have gone up 3.  Corporate profits have also increased by an average of 30 percent.  In the past thirty years the top 20 percent of the nation have seen a dramatic increase in pay.  (85k in 1968 to 145k in 2003).  Meanwhile, the botton 20 percent have stayed relatively the same (7k in 1968 to 9k in 2003).  If these are not disturbing trends for working class Americans, I don't know what is.

Kerry and Bush attended the same college and were in the same fraternity.  Last time I checked, Yale and Skull and Bones wasn't the most country group on the planet.
