« on: Aug 11, 2008, 05:27:03 PM »
I have a 86 22re cal. emissions auto,  some or all of the mess of hoses i would like to see gone. it is now out of required testing,   would like to get rid of EGR.  think that would get rid of most of it any photos would help thanks.

How is it out of required testing?  My '83 still needs to pass smog?  What county are you in?

  Humm.  My smog is due this month..  Can I change the address on the title to your address??   :D  :eyebrow:   (I don't think I'm passing smog this year cheaply..  I'm betting my cat is TOAST!

ok heres what you do to eliminate them....take everything off thats not necessary for the engine to run, plug all the holes, and make blockoff plates for anything that needs it.  and bam, you are done. no more smog equipment problems.

what are the pros of eliminating all that crap besides eliminating it all?  does it effect fuel economy or power at all?

i chose this kit when i started to link the frt of my truck.i didnt want all the o.e ugly wires just zip tied to stuff the kit did noticablly improve power.because of the fine tuning;you can adjust EVERYTHING.for example you can adjust how much or little of fuel through the entire rpm range and set ign timing adv. or retard at any rpm...it goes on and on.

thats pretty cool!  ive got a 22r with the stock aisin carb and a msd, do you know if all that vac stuff has any thing to do with power/mileage?  the reason i ask is cause i dont want to rip all it off and then drop a couple mpgs. . . cause theres no way im puttin it back on!
