now when i do remove these do i have a good chance of a roll over as well on the con.

jimbo74

you might be mroe prone to rolling, jsut dont drive like an idiot... ive removed all the sawaybars ive ever had and never had a problem.....

the only thing it might affect is a panic stop, but if you know how to drive, it wont even be an issue...

if your truck rolls, your an idiot.....

(yup, i've been guilty of it too)

Scrap them they are a waste of material on a Toyota, when I buy a new rig if it still has a sway bar it is the first mod I make. Into the scrap pile with you.

thats it? so if you take them off you will feel like you are leaning more in a turn?

just took them off a few days ago and i dont feel a diffrence maybe because i am more careful around corners. i dont think there is much of a diffrence.

You too, I did mine a few weeks ago and haven't noticed any extra flex or body roll but I did notice a better ride.

GA Runner

89' 4Runner

jrock

Yup. Well, if you have a solid axel.

GA Runner

is it just the bar you take off or is there more to it?

All I did was take off the section that attaches to the axle and tied the actual swap bar up. But you could just as well take it all off. I will be doing that later.

the bar and the endlinks.... there are C brackets that bot to the frame for the crossbar, and the endlinks just go to the axle

unbolt from the two connection points on the axle and then take off the four bolts holding the sway bar mounts on the frame. This will allow you to remove the whole setup. I think the axle ends are double nutted if I remember correctly. Really easy, ten minute job max.

GA Runner

you said only if you have a solid axle. does that mean there is no sway bar on an ifs?

you can als oinstall sway bar quik disconnects if you wnat to leave it on for on road, and disconnect it for offroad, then nothing ever needs to be removed or stored

ifs still has one, but i have never taken one off of an ifs before, so i dunno how much work it would take to do it
