MCR7 checklist time is ticking?????

Let's see,  Well, since I've been working on my rig since last Sept. (since MCR6, that is  ) my list has gotten quite short. 

So the list as it stands...

          -finish half doors

          -relocate rear brake line

          -replace the rear shocks

          -tune CB antenna

          -finish stereo

          -sand and paint the hood and roof

          -I might be getting a detroit for the rear...hopefully in time for the
           trip 

          -(wishful thinking here) OBA. 

          -Then, of course, the ritual of servicing the rig right before the trip.

              -you know, greasing the chassis checking the fluids, making sure
               everything is tight....    

           -Load all my 

           -hit the road 

           -have a good time!     

          That is all.....fer now!

I went wheeling on Friday and the local "easy" ORV park and managed more damage that I have done in my entire off road experience.  Now I have to get the rear driveshaft and a portion of the exhaust repaired before I head south.  I missed the line on a large rock and then it moved unexpectedly creating more problems.

Here is my list. Not in an specific order.

1. Right now with the time I have it looks like moving the front axle 1" back.

2. Swap transmissisions & install inchworm 5.1 t-case.

3. Install All Pro driveline disc brake.

4. Install Detroit in rear axle.

5. Reinstall the c.b.

6. Take the top off & install the bikini top.

today i got a lot done i got front and rear diff wleded on andmy sliders installed also got my tube doors in the mail and put those on. all i need is.
1. 33 inch tires
2. assuie locker if they are back in stock
3 new driver seat.
4. and an air matress for my dad.

  bet i will be only datsun at the round up
motor swap    done    taking out datsun motor and dana 20 and putting in 22r with duel cases
duel cases     done
drive lines      done
rocksliders     done
front locker    done
longs            done
redo wiring    working on it
gm one wire    done
rear dif protection   ordering it soon
first test run    done     
not break before the round up 
buy food
load truck           
haul ass down     
have a blast

well i would not call it big. im only running 36's not no 39.5 like everybody else i know.   cant wait to get down there. think we are gonna leave wen night to try and get down there early. think i might add getting my tsl's cut to my list.  but need to find a hot knife or a place that will cut them for me.

Well I am only running 35s so its bigger than mine

If you live near Grass Valley I know a couple of shops that can hot knife your tires for pretty cheap. If you want their numbers I can give em to ya.

just a heads up on the aussie locker. i still ordered mine while it was on back stock and it is coming on wed. i emailed them and they said the had a small shipment coming and last mon. and a larger one in 3 weeks. i would order one now if i were you you might get it sooner than you think.

bigmike had posted a safety list for us to be prepared to have. its in the registration thread. that might help you some

2. plate steering box
3. finish up rock lights(most likely be comin in at dark)
4.check everything.
5.food/gear
6.fill er up
7. try not to break anything!

keep in mind this is a very general list.  Tailor it to suit your personal needs, but the safety list and guidelines in the reg packet are a good resource

man...ive got a bunch of stuff i gotta do if i wanna be able to get out there...and it all costs money... nothing real simple...

so my list goes:

Registration
Windshield
Tires (lookin at some 33s)
get spare IFS parts
sliders
make rear bumper bracket
get all safety list crap together
get plenty of food drink
save checks for gas money
dont break before MCR



i *think* thats it, im sure ill find more as i go along... so i guess nothing too complicated just high cost (for me) and takes some time...
