figured i show you my BBQ project....
« on: Jul 22, 2008, 10:02:50 PM »
so her i she is

PROBLEM-tired of boxing up and storing the BBQ everytime

SOLUTION-make a nifty mount and be done...

so here is what i came up with...i will have to fine tune a few things and i am planning on adding a tray/utensil holder, but this is as far as i got...this was all TIG welded (just because i wanted the practice) and took waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy tooooooooooooooooo lllloooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg!!!!!!!!!

here are the components

bracket to frame

arms for extension

welded and braced to toy hauler

the BBQ bracket

and the final outcome

i still need to make a latch for the lid and a permanent way to lock it in tow position.....i'll test it out a couple of times and probably have to change a few things, but all in all i am pretty happy with it....

what do you think...?????? or

Nice work on the hat channel. How do you secure that thing while on the move? It would suck to look back and see it taking out cars three lanes over.

:dunno:  Appears to be succured with a bungee cord, it's strapped on in the 3rd to last pic and you can see it hanging down in the last two pics.

I saw that and was just hoping a better solution was in the works. Out here, rubber doesn't last very long outdoors.
