What have you learned today?

I learned that bad backs tweak out at the most inopportune times, and the bosses look at you funny when you can't help because of them.  I also learned that as a person who never likes asking for help, it royally sucks to have to ask coworkers to help carry stuff for you when said back is out!  I guess it's not too bad since I frequently help them work on stuff, but that's little consolation when you'd rather help than be helped!

I feel your pain. I've had a bad back for eons and boogered up knees to boot.

I will help anyone, anytime I can. But I would rather not ask others for help...not prideful or anything, I just don't want to put anyone out.

Exacree   If I'm busy I don't like pulling off to help others, so I prefer the same treatment.  I definitely prefer helping to being helped and am always very apologetic when I have to ask.  We all get injured at some point though so everybody is usually helpful, but not without some gentle ribbing   We have to be very versatile, and are actually the most called upon crew of anybody else at work, so you just get used to going wherever you need to, though it does sometimes get a bit old when you're *helping* another department while they're sitting on their asses  :shake:

When setting an alarm clock to go to work. it does no good to set it for 2:50 AM if the clock itself is 12 hours off.

only by about 50 min or so... Luckly the weather was bad so the heilcopters where not flying yet when i got there. otherwise i would have had to come back the next morning... it is "Only" a 160 mile round trip to work so making a dry run pretty much sucks.
