Hey guys

I am looking for a nice spot to take the ol' lady to camp on or very near the beach this weekend

I am willing to travel between Grover Beach and Bodega Bay.

I pretty much dislike the Pismo/Grover area and really enjoy places like Carmel.

I've camped on the beach at Pismo and a church-owned property near Seaside, but other than that, I have no experience of beach camping.

Do state beaches allow camping?

I've seen numerous webpages from a Google search, but I thought I would post up here for more of a non-tourist type suggestions.

When you were a kid and lived near the central cali coast line, where did you and your family go for camping?

Many Thanks!
Mike

Maybe too far south for you but in Ventura Mc Grath is a good one, it's not on the beach but it is at the beach and there is also stuff to do there and it's not far from Ventura Harbor. Another would be Emma Wood and it is on the beach.

This concern only applies to those who are affected by poison(-less) oak. :gap: I got a rash one time when I was like 5 yrs old and my body must have adjusted to that because I can roll around and go swimming in a pool of poison oak and nothing will happen to be

The fires are one reason why I want to get out of this forsaken valley. The air quality index for Fresno today is like 170-something. The news told everyone to stay indoors this weekend. Yeah, forget that, I am getting outta here

Cool, I've been :eye: :eye: Bodega Bay for some time now. It's 250 miles one-way for me but I think it would be worth it!

prob to late but maybe for next time
we did santa cruz last year and it was super nice.
i cant remember the name of the place but it was close to new brighton beach.
what made it nice was you had to park your car away from the camping area so there were no cars cruzing around and it was so peaceful. short walk from the beach. beautiful.
imna go again for sure
got another 85 runner. build coming soon!!
