I bought a Junkyard tranny with transfer case attached and am thinking I want to use my old transfer case, partly due to easier trans install. Is it hard to swap them? I dont want a bunch of crap falling/popping out everywhere.

depends on what trans and case you currently have.

I can say the shifters are forward on both setups. What else would I look for?

I was wrong the shifters are right on the tansfer case. So does the transfer case come of the trans clean?

Yep, just take the bolts out.
