I'm one of those guys who has been on this forum for years and reads and reads, but never posts.  So I figured I'd show some pics of my 4Runner.  I don't do anything to crazy, I just like to get out of town with some friends to get some fresh air.  My 4Runner is my daily driver, so I have to keep it somewhat streetable.
My set up:
-91' 4Runner 3.4L Auto with nice cold A/C ;P  I used Marlin's parts for the 23 spline and adapter plate.  I repined the computer/body harness.  I fabbed my own exhaust crossover and exhaust, t-case crossmember, shifter extensions ect.
-2" Body lift I made from UHMWP, 33x12.5x15 Kumos
-Open IFS front with ball joint spacers, air shocks, manual locking hubs, and sway bar removed.
-Lickright in rear with air shocks and sway bar attached.
-Other stuff.....Mounted a cheap slime air compressor under the hood, it comes in handy.  Rock lights for night wheeling. Stock A34F, stock 2.28, and stock 4.556.  I'll add later if I forgot something. (Thanks for all the help, Toymanf)

My first wheeling trip was Strawberry/Red/Coyote---Stock IFS at the time, locked in the rear.

Just when you think there's no one around, lol

Me standing by Toymanf's 4Runner

I think a SAS is gunna be next.

Later that day Red Lake Trail

.....and then we flopped.  Right at Red Lake in the campground screwing around on a bolder.

Wow you guys are quick!  I was resizing Coyote Trail, it'll show.     .....the 3.4L, way better than the 3.0POS.  If I had to do it again, I'd probably get a 3 gen with the motor already in it.  Doing the swap was fun though!

The left motor mount ripped apart causing the engine to lift towards the hood.  I tore the radiator hose that goes from the engine to the heater core, put a couple dents on the body, and cracked the windshield a little.  We had our seatbelts on, lol.  Three hours later I was back on the trail.

I'm on the left, my friend Dearl "The Giant" on the right.  I'm 6 feet tall and he makes me look small.

This is the side that it fell onto....

I had to turn around at that point because I lost my brake booster of all things.  Here's a couple pics of my friends Sami too.

A couple pics of Dusy-Ershim.  I wish I had more, it was a fun trail.  I fired the 3.4L up for the first time a couple days before this trip and it ran flawlessly.  If you do this trail and have a heavy foot, bring extra gas, I was almost on emply when I got back into town and Toymanf (has a LS400 in his 4Runner) had to add a couple gallons.
Yep, that's my hottie staning there.

Not bad for IFS

Yeah, it was almost on it's side before it fell over, haha.
Those trails are up by Shaver Lake, California.  Off Hwy 168

Yeah, this is like the road going to Bald Mountain.  We never made it to the trail.  Snow is really fun though, I'll definately be more prepared for the next one, like putting my skid plate in front of the IFS snow plow and cranking the torsion bars for extra heigth in the front.

I have more if you wanna see them, but there not of me.

Thanks, I made it under my own power too.  No winching and no towing.  We set aside 4 days for that trail and just putted through it.  We stayed at Ershim camp grounds for 2 of those days though.  It's probably gunna be pretty hot up there this weekend, take lots of beer, I mean water!

nice runner, i think u should do a sas to set you apart from that other runner alittle more.

i have done way too much dumb stuff at pismo (oceano dunes) i have jumped my stock 89  toyota high enough to clear a small toy hauler (according to other people that where watching), i was in bed for a week after that because my back was so sore, it made my bed dent my cab and chip off a good size piece of paint on the landing. and then i took my 98 chevy tahoe threw sand highway at 80mph and messed up my tcase (the things u do to impress and/or scare a truck full of girls)

where u from?

I think SAS will be next year.  The swap looks easy, I just need to pick up another car to drive once it goes up another 4"s and the tires grow.  I have a lot of research to do still.  I drive to the trails in back which is about 3 hours one way so I need to keep my reliabiliy.  I'd like to be able to drive it to Moab next year, I've never been there.  I'll be at least six inches high, because the 3.4L is dependant on the 2" body lift.  I also have to figure out if I going to run 35's or bigger.

i think that after the SAS you can drop the bidy lift...maybe if you ran 5" springs. Most motor swaps have issues when done on IFS rigs, but when converted to Solid Axle i think the clearance isnt so much of an issue. that is my thought and the conclusion of my research on many motor swaps. :dunno:

nice runner man...i drive mine as a daily driver sas'ed the closet trail to me is the rubicon which about 3 1/2 hours just do everything right and make sure you do not have death wobble and you be fine to drive it anywhere....
nice flop by the way
JUST ANOTHER ROCK CRAWLER....
with a lot of good stuff

Thanks, I'd rather not have the body lift once I go straight axle.  I know the crossover pipe is too close to the firewall because I went overkill on the tube size.  I don't know if I can get that thing out of there without pulling the motor :hammerhead: I'll weigh the options.

We need to do a pic swap sometime, I have twice as many of you than I have of me!  Start a thread on your set up and I'll load it with what I have of you.
