I had a dream last night that ive had  several times now,  it started  about a year ago.

It starts out  with me hearing my Dad's voice, he's telling me dimensions,  at first i dont know,  but then  i see  the house  i grew up in.   It  was a little different,  same "lay out" but the fireplace was smaller and gas,  and there was a  sliding glass  door  in the dining room, (old house just had  4 big windows  and a  heavy wood door)
since last year  when i first started having this dream  its gotten more vivid  until  i can  almost picture it  in my head,  and apparently  Dad  had  literally  beat the numbers into my brain, because  i sat down last week and  using a pencil  a ruler  and my memory  i drew  some basic blue prints :screwy:

last month,  i told mom i kept having this weird dream  and i wanted to go see the old house,  we built it by hand  from 2 old houses  that we tore down , removed all the old nails,  burned what was bad  and recycled  all the good lumber

anyway  we went to see the old house  and  it was gone,  a trailer house  was there,  after  emailing some old friends  i found out the old house was burned  about a year ago :suprised:

now  i ask you guys,  is my dreams, my Dad's way  of telling me  to "rebuild"  our  childhood home??

i later found out  a local organization helps handicapped people  build homes.  the  people the home is for  is asked  to do whatever  work  they can possibley do,  fixtures, sweeping up after the crews leave,  stuff like that

perhaps my settlement  from my wreck  is  what Dad  wants me to use  to start this,

i would  have to  move mom and brother and sis to town  into a apartment, but since theyare both disabled  they are qualified  for a decreased rent"section8" so  that would be almost free rent

am i insane??   or  should i honor my Dad in this way :dunno:

I don't think your crazy, I personally think that your father is trying to tell you that you both built the house to hear you tell the stories and the time you had within it. There is a house that you and your father built it probably killed you to hear how someone let it run down cause when yall built it in your minds you built a mansion on a hill even tho it might have been a 1 bedroom 1 bath house both of you knew it would withstand the test of time for as long as it could last.  I would go tell everyone who ever asked that story and how you can still hear the banging of the hammer and the wood popping in the fire both of you worked you hands in the wood from daylight till dawn and how you could recall every moment that the hot sun beat down on both of your heads from the sweat to the tears that were and forever will be shed on that space of land .
IF YOUR LOOKING OUT THE FRONT OF YOUR 4X4 AND YOU CANT SEE THEN JUST TURN ON YOUR WIPERS. BUT THEN THINGS GET ALL MESSED UP LIKE IN LIFE.

I love to help people interpret dreams.  I have some doozies myself...some are quite troubling actually.  But this Glen's dream thread.....

Glen, while I myself would not be quick to rule out the possibility of your Dad trying to communicate with you, this may actually be your own subconscious speaking to you.  Maybe in trying to cope with the loss of your father, you keep going back in time to your childhood home, where everything was right again.

If you do end up with a nice settlement, why not do your research and see if you can swing it?  If so, go ahead and built a nice new home that is reminiscent of your childhood home, and try to add special touches of Dad.  :yesnod:
RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:

Dreams come from only two places, God or from the scientific process of your brain storing information while you're asleep.  As a side note, when you sleep your brain is at times more active than when your awake with the exception of the logic center which explains the really strange things that people dream.

It isn't my place to tell you if your simply dreaming about something you've been thinking about a lot of if it is a result of God's leading.

Glen I almost wonder if following me and Brian's house thread hasn't been jogging your memories of your childhood home too?  I know it doesn't explain everything, but...the old house being torn down, recycling the good wood, burning what's left...and we're building a pretty similiar 30x50 ranch with the garage jutting off the one end like that.

Like I said...I know it doesn't explain everything, and we've only been at this for about 8 months...but I just thought maybe following our thread has been sending you back in time.  :dunno:

:dunno: like I said...just tryin to help you figure it out, and when I read the beginning with all the talk about the old house, tearing down, burning, etc. it reminded me of the stuff we went through with the old house on the property we bought.  Then when you said 30x56 ranch and that the jutting off piece used to be the garage I was like OOOOO!!!

Lady Di

I have always had my close loved ones, my grandmothers, grandfather and aunt come to me in my dreams right after they have died and tell me "it's OK" which I think to mean dying isn't so bad, so I don't think it's strange at all that your father could possibly come to you in your dreams.
Or it is just your subconscious wanting to connect back to a happier time.
Either way.. remember I do autocad/revit (newer drafting/BIM program) and, I can't do anything about more than basic plans and elevations for you but I have a co-worker that works with HUD and if I can help I'm here.

It's not your dad, it might be your own subconscious telling you that you yearn for those days to return but it's not the dead speaking to you in a dream. Rebuild it if it'll make you happy but in the end it will not be your childhood home & the dead will still be dead when you're done. Who knows though, it might be the catalyst for an entirely new set of great memories.
