You know what, I haven't updated this thread for 6 months, but actually, if you look at this thread so far as a whole, the opening picture and the last updated picture are both the same.

So really, I would say this project thread is completed now. Yup, it has come around a complete 360 degrees and everyone seems to be happy :gap:

Yup, no need to talk about my serious and costly mistake that caused me to almost crash my truck on the freeway. No need to talk about breaking some critical and very expensive parts in my driveway. No need to talk about ripping off my mudflap by mistake, no need to show the pictures of how I broke off my CB antenna on my garage door which got me the bone award at the Fresno 4WD Club meeting, and of course no need to talk about some pretty awesome and sick frame and front bumper reinforcing I did over the past 6 months. And of course there's no use in talking about where my truck is right now and what modifications are being done to my suspension either :)

Yuuuuuuuuup. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh let's put a lid on this Project. Nice work, thanks for the comments everyone!

Good bye

*** YELLER ***

I just looked thru the whole build and man am I disappointed, the wife had to wake me up from a dead sleep 3 times face all marked up with keyboard buttons drool and stuff all over the place, now I need a new keyboard (thanks Mike), all because MIKE cant follow thru with the updates and pictures.... He acts like he is busy, how hard can it be to crash the board every week. For one I'm gonna remove this build from my e mail just cause I cant take the disappointment any longer
and the waiting is killing me.....

I'm 41 I cant wait for this any more

I'm outta here

I gotta go

I cant just sit around anymore

May 31st, 2008

So the previous weekend when I took her out for my first wheeling trip with the new front end (see pictures in the wet mud from the previous page), I aired down locked my hubs in, and proceeded in 2WD. So we start wheeling along a dirt road, a couple of rocks here and there, nothing too serious, then it gets a bit steeper and there are some small rocks on a short uphill climb. I Crawl up it slowly in 1st gear + 4.70:1 and immediately get stuck. So I shift the twin stick in for 4WD and begin slipping the clutch. Again I'm still stuck. I start thinking.... whaaaaa :headscratch: these are just basic rocks, what is the deal. Now it was wet but certainly this was no obstacle for my truck.

TURBO was riding shotgun and he starts saying "Hey man quit playing around and let's go!" and I was like, "wow this is weird, something doesn't feel right". So I flip the switch to power up my E-Locker circuit and engage the rear end. Now the truck feels like it is trying to climb but it's still not going anywhere. I'm thinking to myself, "why in the world can't I climb this even in 4WD + rear locked, this is crazy" so I flip the switch for the front locker and then immediately I climb up.

So I look over at TURBO and I say, "dude, what the heck was that?" and he said, "Stop playing around in 2WD, you need to use 4WD for a steep hill with wet and slippery rocks." And I said, "I was in 4WD + rear locked + front locked!!"

Now at this time Bevin is waaaaaaay up the trail and wondering where I am. So he get's on the CB and starts shouting out at me telling me to stop mess'n around and the day is young and we gotta get moving. So I catch up to Bevin and we keep going.

Now at this time I start noticing that it is extremely difficult to turn to the right but super easy to turn to the left. It gets worse and worse and worse. So I disengage 4WD and go as far as I can in 2WD not knowing what is going on.

Next set of rocks comes up and I engage 4WD and start to climb and I notice my front drivers side tire is not turning. So I'm like, "come awn girl" but still nothing. So.. I hate using my lockers so much, but I had to engage the front locker. Still....Nothing. I look over at TURBO and I say, "Hey, is the front passengers tire turning?" and he says, "Yes." Then I unlock the front end and ask the same question and he replies with "No."

It was then I realized something very bad had happened, far worse than what you are thinking.
