we need an update on the list!!!

Scott -- I got your faxes late Friday afternoon, and received several registrations in the mail over the weekend. As soon as I go through them (they were all postmarked on Thursday, August 14th), I will try to get an updated list to BigMike(he's already hollering for one). I know that I'll be getting a few more today and maybe tomorrow. As long as they were postmarked on Friday, August 15th, they'll be accepted. Just give me a little time to get things done. :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone in less than a month!!!!

QUESTION: Is there drinking water at the springs?

I highly recommend bringing a lot of drinking water.  I think there is a faucet somewhere, but the best bet is to bring bottled or jugs of water for drinking.

OK, I'm just trying to see what I really need to bring.  Technically, I have a water filter that should allow me to pump out of the outhouse, but...  :puke:

LOL If all else fails you can pump the water out of the creek, but I really don't recommend it as people drive through the water upstream.

I updated the list through the deadline date, however we are still receiving more in through the mail that are post marked through the 14th, so we expect more to come in tomorrow post marked by the deadline, the 15th.

So far, we are at 165 rigs and still counting!! Last year we had 152 rigs officially registered, so this is going to be perhaps the largest Round Up ever!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We are expecting well over 200. The 160-170 rigs that are registered are not including our own ~10 rigs from the shop here that will be in attendance nor many who will show up at the springs on Saturday to register without receiving the grand prize raffle ticket.

I made no mention of our personal rigs or the close friends here in the Fresno area who are coming up with us. No need to try to "flood" the results, the sheer numbers speak for themselves.

Question on the raffle tickets??? I didn't have time to read through all 16 pages so sorry if this was covered....

I understand you get one grand prize raffle ticket. Can you buy more???

What about the other prizes. Can we to buy tickets to greater improve our chances of winning regular prizes? ie. Cantina...

If so how much? Ore is there just the grand prize?

MC07 should easily surpass their donation of last year. With just the registration fees of the participants that has already happened!!

Crystal

So... correct me if I'm wrong but people who registered but aren't going can't win the grand prize, right?
If I'm right then I need to thank those of you on the list  :clap2: (aka #1 & 2  :smooch:) for increasing my chances lol

Those that are already registered are the ones that get a chance for the grand prize. We will only be selling tickets for the other raffle prizes there. Sorry, if you didn't register by the 15th, you won't be getting a chance for the grand prize.

This is a good point of which I've been asked a few times.

As for the money we are raising from the registration, please remember this is a non profit event. For each $40 registration, we are charged $15 or $20 (I'm not sure which) per vehicle campsite, $10 per dinner meal, and $10-$15 for a t/shirt (depending on size / included with each registration). So that is at least $35 dollars right there. Then we have to figure in additional costs of trophies and awards, a couple hundred dash plaques, and of course or time lost (cost) from work and fuel expenses to get all of our employees out to the event. I am sure just gas and diesel alone for just us will be over $1,500 that the shop pays for (thank you Marlin!!).

When it's all said and done, we will most likely loose money for this event, as it has been in each past event, which is why we say it is "non profit".

So that is why we say "we raised $xxxx money from the raffle" because the raffle is the only source of profit from this event, and 100% of it is donated to the Rubicon Trail Foundation.

An increased participation in this year's raffle will be the only way to surpass the amount donated from last year.

Of course, as a business, the event is invaluable. The amount of publicity we get from the Round Up events is remarkable. And of course the experience each participant gets from meeting and wheeling with Marlin speaks for itself
