Drain & Fill Plugs
« on: May 01, 2008, 08:58:33 PM »
I plan on running these on the drain AND fill. Should I run these as both and why? or only in one place or another? I am going to buy them in bulk, and pretty much be getting them for like $2.50 each including washers...

#90341-18021 drain/fill plugs

#12157-10010 is the steel for the diffs

#90430-18008 aluminum crush washers for the aluminum tranny/t-case

Where do you buy them in bulk from?

any online vendor.... ends up being cheaper places like www.1sttoyotaparts.com , www.trdparts4u.com , or kneedownnate's brother aaron ---- you can buy 1 or 2, but some places charge shipping, and that makes 1-2 impractical for a discount

just gotts price it out, sometimes, they will even pricematch against each other, some don't charge sales tax because of the state they are in, etc

I shaved my drain plugs on the diffs but run those same plugs for the fill holes.  They are nice!!  Much better than the thin 24mm drain plugs that strip just by looking at them

Those will still come loose when you grind them along a rock, ask me how I know this. Weld those puppies up and forget them, all you need to know is if you need to add fluid just use the 2 bottom studs for the third member to drain it when you need to. Use a drain plug as the fill plug so that the magnet still catches the shavings.
