What are yours and Pats plan for Memorial Weekend Stevo  :dunno:
BECAUSE I CAN

Snowtoy

#91
Pat shot me an email earlier in the week about going to Fordyce the weekend after MD.  I think he and Bunny have plans with family for the holiday weekend.

I would like to run it with you guys as well, but I know my back can't take two camping trips so close together, it took me about 3 weeks to get over the snow camping run, but part of that was from my swollen right knee.

If you guys are going to camp at Fordyce, I might come up during the day Friday and see what the water x-ing is like.  If it is deeper than usual we will likely have to camp at Meadow to avoid that crossing.  The water isn't a problem for Pat's rig, but I came close to sucking in water last year on the last x-ing, and haven't gotten around to building a snorkel yet.

Didn't read, so I don't know if its already been found out, but pretty much all the snow is gone from the mountains around the truckee area.  Meadowlake is higher, but I don't think there will be too much trouble.  I didn't ever make it up that way, sorry.

What was the weather like on that side?  We had nothing but snow heavy to light w/a bit of rain mixed in, it would have miserable if we wouldn't have been prepared.  We never made it to Fordyce trail, just snow wheeled Sat/Sun.  A blown bead and a flopped(into a tree) Rover was our carnage for the trip.

According to on the fordyce forum on pirate the trees that were all down have been cut out.

Depends on which side you are coming in on.  If you are coming in from 80, then yes the trees are removed to a point, though I don't believe Tinman and his crew ran the entire trail, so a Chain saw may come in handy.  If you were going to head in from Meadow Lake side, the road into Meadow last Friday wasn't passable w/trailers, snow drifts were deep and there were trees down on that side as well.
