yeah, between work, crappy weather (no garage or shop) and just plain laziness its been going slow. New beadlocks and 40's are mounted, Links are done, rear discs mostly done (need to flare some brake line and install prop valve) raised cases and trans and fabbed a new tunnel and interior is all back together now. I just got in from mocking up coilovers (should be done with that tomorrow. Also need to order LCE header ( still trying to decide if I want the shorty for the Ftoys or the regular header) choose a muffler and get the exhaust done. Piece a cake, all the PITA annoying little time eaters are done.
Oh and gotta get my Powertank filled  :ha_ha:

Snowtoy

If you guys haven't looked at the calendar lately, Memorial day is the the 26th this year.

As far as snow goes, it was clear last year except trying to get down into Fordyce lake.  There were snow drifts that were too hazardous to try to cross on the backside.  Pat Mike and Fernando tried, and they almost didn't make it back up when they turned back.  This year there isn't likely going to be much/if any snow since we have been w/o any significant snowfall since February, and it doesn't look like May is going to be any better.

With the precedent set last year with the uncontested closure of Fordyce due to the supposed fire danger, with as dry as it has been this spring, the trail could be closed again the first of June.  So MDW may be the only weekend to run the trail this year.  Pat and I are considering running Fordyce as well, I am not sure if Mike will be back fighting fires by then and I haven't talked to Fernando in a while.  I think a lot will depend on the cost on diesel by then.

As mentioned Moonrocks is kind of boring for a long weekend, you can pretty much run all of the trails in one day, and with a lot of people going it will get crowded.  There is a lot of desert to explore, and you could always do some skeet shooting to pass the time.  Body damage isn't a guarantee, unless you take the wrong line, or try some of the lines that the buggies run.  Last year only Mike dented his driver's door, and Pat almost rolled his Runner in the dark, other than that it was uneventful.

Kyota,
Never had a problem at Cisco Grove, I would rather pay the $5 a day and have some security then none at all.
BECAUSE I CAN

KYOTA

yep me too. When we went last time on Mem weekend the only problem we had with snow wasnt on the trail it was when we tried to go back to the highway from Meadow lake past Bowman lake that way. Unpassable drifts across the road and ended up past the point of no return and HAD to bail over the side and down long steep slopes. The elevation we were at by then the snow had been melting and refreezing at night and was basically ice. Couple of hairy situations but we made it back onto the road farther down and soon after the road was dry. If we wouldnt have made it our trucks would have been there for a while. We got lucky.
I dont care about snow on the trail but dont think I want to try going out the way we did last time. I think wheel up to the squeeze and see if theres any more abandon Hummers up there  :talkingn: and turn around.

Sick tight

That means kiyul and ClownMan can come

Now the question is, where do we go?

THeres probably going to be a lot more snow then last year considering how much more snow and how much longer it snowed this year... My guess is about half the trail is goign to be dirt but Id go to bet that theres a lot of snow after... This is just a guess though

sure you can, i wheeled for 3 years with a single case. "ya and you bent a housing" people will say. ya that took like 2 years to do. if you will be fine. wait, do you have 4.10s? if so then ya get the dual adapter.

i really want to make this. not sure if i will be able to though. i need a front r/p and i think a power steering pump again. im gunna have to dismount my rear tire tire that bouncing off the ground and mount it up to another rim thats in callens shop that a friend gave me. im going to say its a 60% chance no, and 40% chance making it. would be fun for sure though.
