Nice Third Gen!!! How's the power of that 3.4?
By the time I get the money for an SAS I'll be 65 at this rate!

yeah, thats the big thing thats keeping me from it.   Its either that or the 4.3, haven't decided yet, but unless I get a screaming deal on the 3.4, It'll prolly be the 4.3

i picked the engine up for 1500 the ORS kit to do it right the first time 2100 little things 600  total 4200 give or take 500 cause some stuff got sold
making a truck with a 3.0 reliable is just as expensive and i could have went the 4.3 way but then it would be a chevota

From my experience, the rear axle seals ususally don't just blow out, the bearing starts going and wipes out the seal - either that, or it's the more rare case of the axle housing being bent or cracked.  Check it out while you have it apart.

Yeah mine started to leak a little and when I had my axle apart to weld my rear last week I found my wheel bearings were shot, same thing happened on my 85 rear axle before i swapped it, bearings went and not soon after it started leaking

I've got some sitting in my tool box, fronts too. Since I've gotta take my rear apart again anyway to do the wheel bearings I'm going to put them in then. they barely leak right now though.
