7 girls= 14 legs

7 cats per purse = 28 cat legs in one purse x 7 purses = 196 legs of cats in one girls purses x 7 girls= 1372 cat legs for all 7 girls.

7 kittens for each cat = 49 kittens in one purse x 4 legs= 196 kitten legs in one purse x 7 purses= 1372 kitten legs for 1 girl x 7 girls = 9604 kitten legs for all girls.

14+1372+9604= the wrong answer of 10990

1 bag has 56 cats in it x 4 = 224 legs in each bag x 7 = 1568 legs that each girl has in her bags x 7 = 10976 cat legs + 14 of girls legs = a total of 10990 legs   that is what i came up with when do we get the answer

OH GOD, I got this in an email awhile ago from my (future-step-sister-in-law..haha) anyway it had a spreadsheet attached that showed you the exact math, but it had a password on it and the password was the correct answer!!  I ended up calling her at 10 p.m. demanding the answer so I could open the spreadsheet.  :thud:

I'm getting the same answer as others...

1 girl + purse = 2 legs
1 cat + 7 kittens = 8 in a family * 7 per purse= 56 felines * 4 = 224 legs per purse
224 legs per purse * 7 purses = 1568 feline legs per girl + 2 girl legs = 1570 legs

1570 * 7 =  10990

I even did it diagramatically in autocad...

The red lines are the girl legs
The yellow lines the cats
The green the kittens.
The magenta rectangle is the purse.

There's the girl.
There are 7 purses for every girl
7 cats in each purse
7 kittens for each cat

As you can see by the third screen capture I am getting the same results.
Obviously this isn't the answer or Nate wouldn't still be holding out.

We're missing something.
