Newb looking for a first gen

Hey guys, I've been lurking and reading for a little bit now while I look for a truck to buy.
I found a 1982 that I am very interested in. Its a pretty clean truck, only has 32's and a very small lift.
The kid says it has a rebuilt Marlin tranny in it. I have searched but am not having any luck so my question is
How can I tell if it really has a Marlin tranny in it, my mechanic is going to look the truck over on saturday so I know what I'm getting myself into lol

I'm pretty sure Marlin puts a yellow turtle logo "button" on all the trannies.

Welcome to Marlin!! That first gen sounds like a good place to start! I'm not sure about the Marlin Tranny though.

It's the company logo, just like in the upper right corner of this page.

ok thanks, I didnt even notice the logo on the side of the tranny, does anybody know is it in the same spot on all the trannys from Marlin?

to Marlin, if you are interested in a 1st gen Marlin was just telling me about one someone he knows of that's selling a sweet one that he had just put a rebuilt trans in. If you don't want that one call the shop and see if they'll give you a line on the other one.
