Ya i know this is a yota forum, but thought i would share this build cause it has yota axles  :gap:
(copyin this over from a different forum) ***and there are alot of pics***

Well, I finally got the doner sammy (86 JX) in the garage, to build the new buggy (the Trail Tough Coil/buggy Kit). Me and my dad are going to have it done before April 26th (thats the first comp we are running with it). We are planning on gettin it done in a little over a month  (alot of long nights). The plan is: Tail Toughs Coil kit, Toy axles w/27 spline longs,5.29s and ARBs front and rear, HP front, 39s BFG Red Label Krawlers, 1.6L 16valve w/ automatic, 6.5tcase, Rock Block, Hydro assit. The 1.6 16 valve w/automatic will have to wait till we get more money, so that means that the little 1.3L 62hp will have to do the job.
Well here is the offical start of the build. I will try and update whenever i get more done.

Here is the best pic i have of it before i started

Here are some pics of the front end tear down (not quite done but not much but a start) the front clip is off, and the front axle is out.

*The Milk Jug is my brake fluid catch can lol

Here is the front and rear frame extensions

Got the front frame extension welded in and the front clip all put on. Tonight we got the rear body cut off and tested the fit/look of the rear clip

Rear axle is out

Cuttin the front frame off

The front frame extension

The front clip on (mounts to the door hinge holes)

My dads welds (kinda hard to see) with a 110v wire feed with gas attachment

Gutted the inside to get ready to cut of the body

The rear body cut off

The rear cap

Well we got the rear frame cut off (right after the rear bumpstop mounts) and the rear frame extension welded in. the frame extension is acctually shorter than the orginal frame, but it moves the axle back almost 14 inches, so once it is all put together it will have a negative approach angle

here is what it looks like with the rear cap on

Well its been awhile since ive updated cause the website was down.
so here are the updates

Got all the mounts on the frame for the link bars up. they are pretty trick cause all you do is drill the frame with a 25/64 drill bit and bolt them to the frame. (the pics are of before drillin and bolting them up)
Driver side upper and lower link mount

passenger side upper and lower link mount

the side brace for front and rear mounts

the front 3 link mounts

Here Are some pics of everything painted that includes the frame too, i used the Hammered silver paint, kinda hard to tell in the pics.
I also go the rear axle hung. The cool thing about the kit is that brent included a preset length for the rods that will get you pretty much right, but still will need to do a little tweakin here and there. The rear uppers were to be set at 34 5/8 inches center to center, and the rear lowers were 35 1/2 inches center to center.

It should be ready by hollister. We are goin to get it pretty much done this weekend. Get the tcase up, rock block, replace the clutch and tranny, build the cage and hopefully have it rolling this weekend, thata is if our rims get shipped fast enough, cause its going to take me a while to mount those 39s on some bead locks lol.

All we are waiting for is the powersteering pump, and bracket. and some hoses for the ram assist, than all is left is doing to breaks. but other than that it should be done.
