Last minute decision. Going up to Big Bear Sat. morning 23rd. Towing Tuffy up. Going to run John Bull and try to squeeze in the rock garden at the creek. Hootman's riding shotgun.
Anybody feel like joining us?
Hoping for a good day with fresh snow.

A good day for wheelin', but it took 6 hours to finally get there. Traffic, checkpoints, turn arounds, and misc. delays. After all that and about an hour of actually wheeling, was it worth it. Hell yeah!

Parked at Hanna Flat to unload.

Wheeled up 3N17 to Holcomb to get to John Bull. But never made it. Got captured at the end of the tracks that the last vehicle up there made.

It was a wet compacting snow. My first time driving in drifts 2 feet deep. Luckily these Camel Trophy wannabe's ( their words) came along and winched us out. Of course after getting me out of the way, he showed me how it was done. Well, he did have chains.

Good on the trail till I hit the deep stuff. Then they packed with snow and acted like slicks!

I didn't!   :screwy: :gap:  I leave 'em about 9 lb.
It just happens I was running around getting it smogged last week and pumped 20 lbs. in for street. When I got up there I didn't remember doing that. So I was still running 20 lbs.

It would be cool to see how the tires do when aired down, maybe next time.

Hey RCT thanks for the link. Those guys saved the day. After I dug out, the lead Rover winched me right out.
Another fine example of total strangers helping out a fellow wheeler in distress. I love this sport!

Toyoduh,
We won't know how those KM 2's aired down work next time. Next time I'll be on some aired down Krawlers!

Why, didn't care for the KM's?
Have you sold the them?

Toyoduh,
I was pretty happy with the KM2's. But Krawlers just have that luggy tread, with a better sidewall design. The KM2's are a bitchin' dual purpose tire. They got me through the Rubicon and my last run at the Hammers. Tuffy II isn't really street driven, so I'm opting for the Krawlers.
My local Discount Tire store manager is hooking me up! The KM2's will go back to them.
