t case

well my tcase brock on the con 2 weeks a go and just got to working on it to day .
here is what i need to no ...
85 runner
6in lift
35s
5.29 lockt f/r
auto  :smack:
now is ther a dif between a m. and a auto case.. if so what case am i going to have to buy or is it worth rebuilding this case ..

Save your self a LOT of money and aggravation in the long run and just put a 5 speed in it.  The t case on the auto in those years are built into the trans, so basically you need a new trans and case since your case is wasted.  Sorry to bring the bad news but thats the reality of your setup.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

t-case is part of the tranny on autos, nothing you can do besides taking the tranny apart :_oops:

might be a good time to spring for a manual transmission swap, besides cutting new holes for the shifters everything is pretty much bolt-in

yes its me .... well i got the t case off to day and i dont think i broke the t case but i snap the cross member and the braket that holds it to the t case ....

Of all the 4x4 autos, the 85' has the worst service record.
Because it lacks the t-case oil cooler, it is common for the cases to overheat and eventuilly fail. The cooler was added with the ifs front end.
Upgrading to a 86 and newer auto trans and t-case is one option.
Moving up to a 5 speed is better.

Are you refering to the tranny mount ? So do you think it is possible that a broken mount has been giving you all your problems ? Post pics if you got

ya its  the tranny mount broke ... i wish i could get pics but my comp is a pos...im going to put the drive line bake on and drive it to my dads new house in galt this week end i think and replace the mount and see what happens but i never no what realy going to happen .....
