There are alot of people that have taken the first gen's and added a half cab to them.  I wish I could remember who and posts.  But you might have to search!  Shouldn't to hard if ya got any fab and welding skills!

I dont want that, i want to see if any has chopped the rear roof of an 2nd gen trucks top  and make the pillar shorter on each side so when you weld it up it slopes down

are you talking about sectioning the pillar like they do to hotrods so there is a chopped look?

I dont get it either,  I have seen them sectioned up front to give them a choped stealthy look but never the rear.

Ya sectioning the pillar like they do on hotrods but not the front, the back, past the x-cab window, and on the back of the cab the pillar by the rear window on each side bobbed a couple of inches. so when you re-weld it back together the rear roof and pillars are sitting lower than normal.
I know this is hard to explain lol. But maybe i will post a pic of what i mean in a little bit.

i dont think anybody on here has done it. just get your cutting torch, section and reweld it. sounds like you have all the steps you need and dont need much advice. just measure four times and cut once :twocents:

Yes like a chopped top but the rear chopped so when you look it at it slopes down.  i can get started if i had tools and well a place or shop to work in.

NorCalToy

he wants to cut and shorten the rear pillars but still leave it fully enclosed, i think. like the way a magnums roof slants and lowers at the rear, like that.

let me re fraz that are you short cause I'm 5'10'' and my head is 4 inches from the roof.

REG535

Yes just like that NorCalToy and slipnrocks, have the idea  :gap: the rear would slant like that in the magnum, no am not short i dont think it would matter that much since you sit in the front and the x-cab that would be shorter or the rear is where you put stuff anyhow.
Thanks for the help.  :gap: I wish i could get it done lol.

why cant ya do it?
x2

that would be sick, if you do it, are you gonna pit a bend in the roof, or make a clean slant down? basically is there going to be a bend in the roof above the headrest where it goes from flat to angled down, or will it be angled from the very front?

Am not sure on if it would be bent or not, hopefully it would be a clean slant down  I cannot start on it or work on it yet, becasue i dont have a place to do it, and am in college still dang it lol. Plus my toy is in colorado, am in wyoming  :( so until then :talkingn:
