This is my old rig. It never made it to a message board. I was too busy wheeling the piss out of it. I parted it out to build bigger, better things. I will miss her though. It was my daily driver and weekend wheeler for 2 years. Only came home on a trailer 2 times out of about 50+ trips. Got me to work every Monday.

Last summer I added a 22RE, put in the dash from a 86 4runner, cut the cab out in the back, moved the gas tank and all kinds of other stuff

Dash swap looks great. Is it a direct bolt in swap or did it require some modification?

Thanks everyone. My dog is a Doberman Pincher/Pitbull. He is a good dog. Kind of retarded, but I still love him. Dash didnt bolt in. I started by swaping in the 22re. I didnt want to mix the 83 harness with the 86 harnesss, so I added the whole 86 harness that was with the 22re. Once I did that I needed the 86 steering column and guages. Since I was that far in I just added the newer dash. I bolted the steering column to the bar from the 86. That didnt bolt to anything in the 83, so I welded it to the body.  It all kind of just worked out. I never put a heater back in it. The 83 heater wouldnt fit. I loved being on the trail and showing people the dash. Everyone loved it. I will build another 1st gen someday. I almost kept it and welded the whole rear body of a 4runner to it. Removable top 83 4runner...nextime!  I am now building a 86 4runner. Adding a turbo motor. I have it on the buildup page.

got to say I love 1st gens more than anything even though I just got a 2nd gen  :beerchug:

Dont be sad. I sold the body and frame to a guy that has it almost all together. I wont look as sick as when I had it, but it didnt die. :smoke:

Never made it to the hammers. Id like to take my next rig though. The 22re swap had every single piece form the donor truck, but I never had to smog it. Took it apart before I had to smog it. It would of passed though. I got 18 mpg with 35's and 5.29s
