The steering box needs to be centered, if it is to one side or the other it is out of the neutral position which mean the power steering pump is pumping fluid thinking you are turning it. A lot of people wonder why their truck pulls to one side or the other this could be the reason. I'm sure when driving straight your steering wheel is tipped to one side. to adjust the arm and it is adjustable you must pull it off, you cannot adust it when it is attached. It is a guessing game but it should only take a few trys to get it centered. Glen I've never run anything but the stock steering on my solid axles and have lifted them all at least 5 inches, he's got the drop draglink which compensates for the lift, most of the trucks I lifted (except for one) I didn't even do that. When you lift it you have to re-center the steering box that goes for any lifted truck, don't think that just by pulling the steering wheel and re-centering it solves anything. Try and find what you came down on hard that may lead you to the problem. I'm thinking you may have come down on the front dif and did something like this, doesnt' need to be bent much to throw the box out of center.

Take the cotter pins out and back out the screw-in cap in each end of the link then shift the link back and forth till it comes off.  There is also an adjustment procedure for that screw piece as well before reinstalling the cotter pins.  You may have to remove and adjust and reinstall the link several times before it's adjusted properly so be patient while adjusting the link ends to the right length.  :yesnod:

You are correct, that's why I was playing on it. The rock didn't do the damage, once I slid off the top and high-centered I was trying to steer my way out and the ps bent it like that.

alright here is the prob i figured it out the ajustable drag link the threads in witch you ajust are almost striped looks like a little play do you think it would be fine if i got the stearing totally centered and then threw a bead around it :dunno: it will only be like that for short time i will get high stear :crossed: so is it fine to weld?

Did you ever pull the pitman arm off the steering box and recenter that? That adjustable drag link won't adjust far enough to not allow you to turn.

As for tacking it, it's your steering, and you don't live near me, so that's your call. Probably won't hurt anything, but you can never be to cautious with systems like steering and brakes.  :twocents:

well i pulled it off and centered it but if i hit something real hard it will either pull in or out and mess the stearing so i figured if i get it perfect or as close as i can centered and tack it it should work fine
