charging problem...
« on: Dec 04, 2007, 06:47:17 PM »
i have a 85 toyota 4runner,
alright so rolled the yota wasnt charging anymore replaced alternator and it charged good for a day i could pull the positive cable off and it'd still run then i turned it off, came back, had no power to headlights or anything whatsoever. then i changed the inline fuse which goes to the fuse box off the battery positive clamp cause it blew and it blew it within seconds but it did start only after hitting on the starter as we tried to start. it blew the fuse agan and wont charge and i put pliers to connect the two sides of the fuse insert and it gave power but kept sparking and it was very underpowered. anyways whats your ideas now that i got a new alternator in and it keeps blowing that charging fuse?"

Check the conection at the alt. and make sure it isn't shorting out on the brackets.
