3.4 litre v6

what engine is this and what trannys will bolt up to it. i found a complete engine for 800 and am tempted to swap it into my 87 4runner

Its the 5vz-e, basically the newer version of the 3.0, but in reality it is nothing like it.  More power, prolly better gas mileage, definitely more reliable.  :yesnod: Bolts up to the R150, I believe the 3.4 bellhousing is a tad shorter,  but other than that, it is the same thing.

Yes, this is a great engine!  When my 3.0 dies, the 3.4 is gonna replace it.  Here's some info on things needed to complete the swap:

 I am starting this swap today. I hate the 4cylinder power in my runner. I bought the ORS full swap kit.....worth every penny. They give you everything...a clutch, spark plugs, radaitor hoses, all kinds of little things along with the electrical hook ups. I also bought their crossover pipe. This along with the 4link/ coilover upgrade should make me real happy!! :greengrin:
`87 runner....it was stock....now sas'd, 37's, duals, geared/ locked, 10in bob, half doors, rock lights. etc., etc.,.........coming soon a 3.4 swap!!!
