How many of you are in the market for a new vehicle? Who wants to see a solid front axle under a new Toyota? Who wants electric lockers and 4.88's as an option? Let's tell Toyota USA what we really think they should be selling us!!! Why should the rest of the world get cool options and us Americans can't even get a 5 speed in our new 4Runner or Landcruiser!! Sign the petition!

So far over 2000 people want it as an option. I don't think the general populous would know the difference. The petition isn't only about a straight axle but more towards offering options like Jeep does for their Rubicon. Gears, lockers, ect... I think toyota is missing out in a field where they could be highly competetive.

they are definately ahead of the park - TRD? They beat jeep by far in the traction department! Electric locker..

If I want a real wheeler I'll build it. New trucks are just that - a new truck. Something cushy to drive to work in, and I don't mind IFS for that..

All we are asking for is the option of a solid up front. And not to get rid of IFS. IFS is great for the desert.
If you don't know why I have a "D" in Toyoda you don't know Toyotas!!

I hate new trucks.  And by putting a solid front axle in them, it ruins the trucks that all of us drive.  I love older Toyotas just because they are solid axle and that's what makes them unique.  If you make a new truck like that, then what's the point of these old Toyotas.  I just don't like that idea because it woudl take the glory away from the older trucks.   :twocents:

or just bring back the real toyota trucks. like there saying is its just an option, the ifs trucks will still be there

Toyota could learn a lesson from Jeep...(spit, spit, spit!). Jeep has the Rubicon. Now Dodge is bringing out the Power Wagon. While Toyota is emasculating the Tacoma. The 4Runner has been, for quite some time, a luxo-cruiser. It's still pretty capable on the trails, but who's going to use a vehicle that costs that much as a "hunting" truck. Give us an option for a "Moab-icon" Tacoma. With the stuff that's available from Bobby Long, Brian Ellinger and of course Marlin, Toyota could release a limited run of killer trucks! Now, the buying public will never go back to Spartan type trucks, so mall-crawlers are here to stay. I don't know of any auto/truck fans that are any more loyal than us...the guys that have spent years modifying, tweaking, inventing and most of all enjoying Toyota 4x4 trucks. I would even like to see Toyota build a BIG ASS F350 beater that I could use to haul my crawler around! As it is, I'll probably swap a Toy v6 or v8 into one of my Runners and use it for long haulin'.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first.

I know that I would be very happy with a factory straight axle Taco. Marlin might not like that idea though would cut into his profits.

The only complaint most people would have is how hard they would ride unless the put coil overs which would be unlikly.
87 runner, 4" trailmaster lift, 33" TSL/SX, 5.29's V6 e-locker, 22re that cost too much

m44offroad

now if we could get toyota to use the new six speed in 4x4 trucks
