I have heard through the grape vine that the high lakes are shutting down to wheelers by Dec. 31 2007? Have anyone else heard that or is it just a rumor?

I say thats a rumor kinda like how they said theyre going to close them all down 3 months ago when really all then did is shut a few trails down.

i think the main loop is stayin open, and maybe some other trails. i will contact my friend that has been keepin updated on it and let you know.

The trail to morris is open for sure. And the main trail is open. I think its just grassy and campell that loop that goes aroudn is closed. Also im pretty suree in carr mine its closed.

Theres a website that has a lot of info and an email newsletter that gets sent out evey once ni a while. I havent got a news letter in a while actually but it has some good info. Im pretty positive its Friends of the High Lakes... Ill get a link if you want to check it out

Some of those trails I havent been on in YEARS, last time I was in there was about 10 years ago on quads and barely remember most of the areas. I wanna check out some of the other lakes, actually looks like fun.
