I swapped an 84 2WD cab onto my 83 4WD. I just disconnected everything that went from frame to cab on both trucks, pulled the 83 off and set the 84 on. Then reconnected everything. It was almost as simple as it sounds. Just had to cut a hole in the floor of the 2WD cab for the t-case shifter.
