Topic: 82 efi swap what'em i in for

i have the donor 4runner everythings there. what do i have to pull off the 4runner i know the wiring harness. and gas tank is there anything else anybody know how to do this swap. my 22r has had it need the swap any info would be helpful

Are you planning on swapping the entire 22RE into the 82 or just swaping the EFI stuff onto your 22R?

You'll need to pull the fuel lines as well.  You might as well use the tranny from the 4Runner.  It's better than the one behind your 22R.

And check to see if your head has all the right holes taped for the EFI manifold too. If not you'll have to do it of find a head that has them already. Take pictures of the engine bay to before you pull the stuff out, it'll make a good referance if you can't remember what went where. I spent an ass-load of time trying to figure out wiring before looking at me friend truck when I did mine.

The you shouldn't have to much of a problem, except the wiring for the light's and stuff might be different. Are you planning on splicing the EFI harness into your trucks harness?
