I'll be there for this one..

Wow planning already? Cool...

I wanna say Fordyce but dont know what kind of flows would be on the creek. Id imagine not too high since there is no mass amounts of snow melting.

Id say the highlakes but its hard to tell up there. Last year when a few people came up (the Ramrod crew) it was pretty weak snow and it sucked. We still had fun but the trail was not very good at the time. Also what sucks about the highlakes the trail isnt all that exciting for people to travel pretty far unless people wanted to camp up there for the weekend.

Fordyce would be sweet. Rubicon would also be cool but I think a lot of rigs + wheelin in the snow = a no no, cruzilla if you see this, doesnt the FOTR also frown upon people goin up there?

Does anyone have any ideas as to where to go or whats up? People that have been to places that would be worth it for lets say 15+ rigs, say a place that would be good for all of us...

what about the trail to the right at trailhead on Fordyce that takes you to the top of the mountain?

Can't remember how long it is.. but its fun in the snow with the steep hills..

If you want a trail w/ just lots of snow I know of a few places up Marysville/ La Porte road.

Can it fit a lot of rigs (15+) would it be worth it for people like big mike cruising 4hrs+ to it?

Thats why I was thinking Fordyce. I dont know. I just want to go somewhere new for snow too. The first one was at Bald Mtn in Fresno but everyon had to go home so it was kinda weak, fun but weak (for me cruising 4hrs jsut to fresburg) and then the second was up at the high lakes and the snow kinda blew and more then half the people that said would come didnt but it was still cool...

I dont know ???

well... it really depends on what BigMike (and the others driving a long distance)  are looking for ?

Rock + Snow?

Just Snow?

.. or?

The roads that I know of are shy on rock but have deep snow that's fun to plow around in and the roads go back along ways so you could easly make a day or weekend trip out of it.

These "trails" are roughly about 45 min's away from my home off Hwy 20 heading twords Grass Valley.

What about Iron Mt up at Sly Park?

OK so everybody put down some ideas...

So far we got:
Fordyce
High Lakes
Iron Mtn (in Grass Valley)

Any others?

This year its going to be an all weekend event rather then just one day.

Also when should we have this? Last year it got postponed almost 2 months because of lack of snow.

Im thinking beginning of Feb depending on snow conditions

I say we wait till after the holidays to see how the snow conditions are and plan from there.

and keep in mind, i think there are going to be a lot more rigs this year then in the past.

Last year at the highlakes we had a good 15

Actually the first "MY annual snow run" theres was I think 21 rigs that came in my/our group  :yikes:

This year I think more people are going to want to come though.... Even though a lot of people said they could come last year they didnt even make it.

I want to see if anyone else has anymore insights on places to go wheelin at.

Im going to have BigMike start a new thread which will split this whole topic into the new one with the poll in places to go. Thats why Ill wait a day or so to see before we start the thread.

Last year we had a poll thread and an official thread and it got confusing so tahts why itd be just easier to split the threads into one with a poll.

Who?

There is going to be a tire size limit, which is going to be 35s or bigger. I dont wanna have to sit and wait around for people.

Matt couldnt come either cause he has 33s.

He and chris may be great in the snow but I dont want to have a huge group waiting for a few people stuck cause they have no ground clearance or anything.
