My blustry drive to work (day 2, 10-23-07)

If you look close at this you can see a second trailer flipped over in front of the one in the foreground

All together including the trailer there were 8 that were blown over by the wind! Have a nice day

15 n and s are shut down right now thru the pass n at sierra on the 15 and n at devor on the 215 s at 138!

Wow, crazy. I live in Northern California and I was driving in the valley yesterday and I was surprised by some pretty strong winds. Thought my 4runner was gonna blow over a few times. Nothing compared to that though. Do you know how fast the winds were moving to do that?

40+ with gusts up to 90+ according to the news

good luck the fire in devore just hit homes! Looks like the 15 may be closed for a day or so. Lake arrohead fire has claimed about 60 homes the sandiego fire claimed about 100 homes.......


this morning we had gusts over 100mph!

All that and we have clear bule skies up here.....

i live up in norcal and we dont get winds like that at all. its considered BAD if we get 50mph gusts. but we get whiteout snowstorms ion teh winter that cause just as many problems if it was factored down into a ratio. make sense?  SoCals 10million people vs NorNorCal's 10thousand people.

Yeah I hope none of you Socal guys are in danger from those fires! I hear its supposed to rain next week so hopefuly it pours.

well just got an update on the fires.....
Lakearrowhead fire  almost 150 homes lost
rancho bernardo fire almost 120 homes lost ( best count to hard to tell at this time)

Day-Um!!,yeah my drive was pretty interesting too,the HWY. I normally take was closed because of an overturned Semi on the on ramp so I had to take the alternate route where EVERY single traffic light was out for about 6 miles and I must've seen about 40 blown down trees,light posts and street and buissnes signs.I just talked to my dad about an hour ago and he was stuck on the 15 FWY. coming back from San Diego,he said traffic had been completely stopped for over an hour.

yea 15 at devore is still closed and down in SD. 15 is a mess all the way to the boarder

i'd like to but my job makes me go into it. have to set up evac shelters and housing for people who lost there home or are under manditory evac. from the fires
