I'm putting an Aussie together now, everything checks out so far. clearance is tight. .145. spec's are .145 t0 .174.  guess the install grease might might be taking up .002 or so. any thoughts on this?
My thoughts are: I never checked this on the front or rear locker and both are still performing flawlessly.

I'm thinking about one up front now.  How much did this reduce your steering or did you not really notice?

mine makes a toc.. toc.. toc noise when i back up and turn. or round a corner with the throttle off on pavement. i guess that's normal. sure launches the truck up hills though. i can see why once you put one in the rear diff, you want another one up front. i had a lot of fun trying to get stuck in 2wd.  :burnout:

I've got 500 miles on mine and it's getting quieter all the time. mines a DD and it doesn't bug me at all. but i drive on dirt back roads almost every day and it's nice not to have to shift to 4wd when i go in the rough. now if someone was to give me an e-locker or air locker for only $250 I'd dig that too!

like holding the clutch in, while its in gear..... then just letting off the clutch while your still taking the corner.... you can break :pokinit:.

no. i think you'd really have to try to break an Aussie. by dumping the clutch, i think he's talking 4000rpm plus on dry pavement, while your doing a hard turn.

iv done this many times and never used power tools or anything special just use this cinder block...http://www.demxx.com/images/standardblockB2_th.jpg throw a towel on it if your worried about the bearing staying clean and drop the spider gear/carrier end into one of the holes, then all u need to do it brace the block with your other foot and then you can just use a cheater bar on a ratchet and your good to go.
