I guess I didn't really word this thread right. Not so much "unusual" rigs, but out of the ordinary crawlers and wheelers.Just rigs that are out of the norm, that actually get wheeled.Different rigs that you've seen on the trail that aren't something you'd normally see on the trail. Here's one that Jim allready posted, you DEFINATELY don't see Super Duties out on the trail much.

THAT F350 IS MY FAVORITE!

That F-350 is pretty sick but it isn't much of a wheeler from what I've been told.I'm not hating on it because I think it looks hella sick   but a couple people I know have told me they've seen it brake on something simple.I saw it at the Hammers when Petersen's was taking pics of it for a full feature and it was having a REALLY hard time getting up a rock no bigger than a 44" tire.I asked one of the guys from Petersen's why it was never in the mag and he said because he put it up for sale right after the photo shoot and posted in the ad that it was gonna be in the magazine so they kinda felt he was using the magazine to advertise the truck so they decided against it,so it sounds like the dude is kind of a jack ass too.

Musta been the driver.  That thing is sweet!! Saw it at the WErock Comp at Donner last year.    I can't imagine it having difficulty on a rock no bigger than a 44" tire.  I'm betting that the driver sucked, because I don't doubt the people you hang out with Peps (its not safe   )  Didn't see it wheel though  the dude just cruised it around.

Same owner?.Because it was for sale for $150,000 a while back.Seriously dude, that rock was no bigger than a 44" tire,it's between Sledge and Jackhammer in Johnson Valley.First he was dealing with a busted inner bead and when he finally got it back on it was strugling.Almost seemed as if it was too heavy to go up the rock  :dunno: .A couple other people saw it that weekend and it never went on a trail, just kinda cruised around...Trust me dude,I would not hate on anyone's rig unless it really was a pile and the owner was a jackass and I definately wouldn't hate on it because of it's value.I happen to think the truck is pimpin'  ,Toby Lavender built it and I also like Toby's Titan and that thing actually does pretty damn good.I guess like you said,it must've been the driver.

could be the driver... but how is it geared? what tire pressure was he running.... what lines did he take... of that factors in too.

Well,he's running 53s and those tires are generally pretty stiff regardless of preasure. Not sure what gearing but if Toby built it,it's setup right...Lines? , for what he was trying to climb there's only one way.Trust me dude,I've been wheelin' a long time and I know there's alot of things that play a roll in how a vehicle handles but by the end of the weekend alot of people were talking about how they kept seeing him at the begining of every trail but never saw him go in.Have you ever been to the Hammers?. Again , not hating on the rig.I think the truck is awesome . Just going by what I saw and what other people have seen.

:dunno:  I wouldn't know Toby from the Dali Llama.  Is he a hick?  The dude that was driving it when I saw it was a total hick, cowboy hat, wranglers, and cowboy boots.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, just a description.

Gearing shouldn't have been too much of an issue climbing a 44" rock, If I remember right, its gt a hopped up 6.0, which would have plenty of torque to overcome that specific even infernal is talking about.
