I used to run an old datsun like that.....here's a few pics.  The truck has since been retired and replaced by a yota.

It had a 454 tbi, sm465, divoced twin sticked 205, full hydro and 60 /14 bolt w/ detroits, 39.5's on beadlocks.  It was built on a full size dodge frame that was shortened 24".  I bought the cab for 25 bux in oklahoma, traded a go cart for the dodge and bought an old 1 ton farm truck for 650 for the diffs.  Had a lot of fun in it, but the rust took over the truck after thousands of offroad miles....
80 pickup swb, 4.3, 700r4, marlin 10 degree doubler, frt+rr 60's w/ 7.17's, full hydro, flat belly'd, 42 irocs, 17" mickey's w/ trailready's.

Nice,Darrin's Datsun still runs the Datsun frame with a Buick V6 with a Klune V  Dana 60s and 42s.I remember when he used to run Toy axles.Definately one of my favorite trucks out there, that thing gets it and he knows how to drive that thing.Very rare to see Datsuns on the trail and at TDS this year he was cruising around with another fully built Datsun.

The rigs aren't really unusual any more but they are in these circumstances. Definitely cooler if they were completely locked but cool none the less.
