Another new guy from the other side of the offroad spectrum....

well like the title says... i'm steve.. i currently work at a offroad fab shop.The majority of our customers are into offroad racing (prerunners). so getting into crawling is a big difference from going 80mph over some whoops...  I currently own a 1979 pickup with a 20r bottom with a 22r top with TBI (throttle bodie injection), dual cases with 5.29's front and rear, a LSD in the front with a spool in the rear, sitting on 35' x terrains.  i've got disk brakes in the rear and a cage inside. the bed is also bobbed too... it came with a old downey offroad kit but it works well until link it.  I hope some of my knowledge helps some people and i hope to learn a lot more.   i'll post some pics...

What TBI setup is that?  GM, aftermarket Holley?  Some specs would be awesome!

So apparently I'm not the only one!  I've run desert all my life, got hooked at MCR6.  I'm so used to hitting things while going fast that you hit it before you realize that you've seen it.  When you see what a tire looks like at slow speeds getting hung up on these rocks... jeezuz it's looks bad!

Looks like you'll have a nice rig going in no time.

I'm off to try to acquire my new rig this weekend

i believe it'S A GM aftermarket holley setup... if i'm right it's for a 350.. not too sure but i bought the thing this way....

yea man i hear ya there.. i've been into that stuff for a looong time... it's time it got difficult... haha anybody can drive a truck fast, but crawling up rocks and knowing your gonna roll is crazy.. with racing it just happens in a spilt second... hahahaha...
