i don't understand why people are bagging on the hummers. First of all the H1 was never made to handle serious forms of rock crawling. The H2 is just a tahoe, plus in a majority most of em were stock. All the trucks here have been modified, so ofcourse we can do all those things that the hummers can't do.

Mega Baby Huey

lol... i think it's funny cuz there's tons of people out there that swear by hummers and how tough they are... then we see vids like this where they can't get over a little rock... i liked the H1's and the H2's were ok, i guess... H3's were the dumbest ugliest things I've ever seen.

and the only mod my truck has is bigger tires. it's a four cylinder, 17 year old beater, and I've beat the crap out of it...  and to see a vehicle that's 12 times more expensive than mine break on a little rock like that.... well that just brings me a strange sense of joy...

it's a toyota forum... what do you expect?  :dunno:

I think its more at fault of the driver...say one of you experienced drivers gets to take a hummer off roading. i would think that you could do just as many crazy things as with the toyota or jeeps...minus certain things where having a smaller truck is better (thats what she said). Most people that i've seen who own hummers i just rich folk who are unskilled at off-roading.

True this is a Toyota forum, but lets not bag on a hummer like it was some modern land rover.

H2 was the failure (just my 2 cents)

That is a typical problem with the early H2's, the steering arm adjustment is pressed in and pulls out easily in the rocks later models sported threaded adjustment that eliminated the issue. My H3 did very well off road in stock trim I did some tough moderate trails in it. A little low so picking your lines was critical. For an out-of-the-box vehicle it would just about go where you dared point it with the option package, locking t-case center diff, limited slips, lower geared t case, and the traction control and stability control. Sure it wasn't a Rubicon but with a little work on suspension and a front axle you'd be hard pressed not to say WOW!

For me, I just think the H2s are retarded looking. At least the H3s are somewhat stylish and smaller, not so blocky. One of my neighbors has an all black H3 and if he didnt have ghetto bling rims on it, it would actually be a pretty cool ride. After really looking at it, I decided its not that bad of a vehicle. Nothing I'd ever buy, but my opinion of them changed after I spent some time looking at one up close inside and out.

Same for me the H2 was a big POS that tried to mimic the H1, Though I never did even try to wheel an H2 I did have a friend that tried, once. It did the exact same thing that one did and is why I know what causes it. I have wheeled both an H3 and H1 both were very capable for what they are. With the flat belly the H1 was unstopable and the H3 just has to worry about clearance. The H3 sits on the trailblazer chassis just so you know.

Screw the H1, H2 and the H3.  If I wanted a Hummer, I'd buy one from a military surplus auction and  :driving: like crazy.  Speaking of military surplus, I'm actually considering buying a M35A2 as a tow rig/portal shop.

I thought the truck was going to be the biggest disgrace in the video. Turns out I was wrong. It is comical listening to the them talk about the "trail" they are on.

Language warning for those who dont care to hear F-bombs every 10 seconds.
