« on: Sep 02, 2007, 11:48:22 AM »
I am wondering what that tube that comes off of the exhaust manifold is? is it nessesary cause it leaks and I am not sure what it is for, weather I can weld it shut or what it does. it is cracked and dont really want to replace it if it is not that important. thanks Cody

That is the EGR pipe that goes from the manifold to the back of the head.  You only need it if you need to pass emissions.

It is not EGR, it is Air Injection.  the tube runs around the back of the engine and hooks in with the diverter valve (air management valve) and the smog pump.  there are small round gaskets between it and the manifold that are probably gone.  try that.
