Well which one do yall like better? Hard Top, Soft Top, Bikini Top, or No Top and why?

soft top because like jimbo said its the best of all worlds.can be up to protect your interior, can have the sides/back rolled down to get air back there but provide protection from the sun like a bikini top, or you can take it completely off and store it in the cargo area of the vehicle for just in case you get rained on (unlike a hard top thats been removed, its either with you on the vehicle or its stored).

Oh wait, we're talking about 4runners huh? 

Hard top.  If you want it off, you can take it off, but when its on, it creates a better seal (wind, sound, water) than a soft top.  at leas thats my experience.  I've never been in a 4runner with a soft top, but every jeep and scout that I've been in with a soft top sucked.  Get going, and that thing would whip  and pop like crazy. :twocents:  it just got really annoying to me, even in a new jeep it popped in the wind.

I dont like soft tops because of the security factor. Theifs can just open them and have access to all your junk. I guess you just dont keep anything of value in there....or park in a garage all the time.... or.....

i've always had vehicles that are easy to break into so just used to it i guess. the 89 suburban i used to have i built a security box in it for my nicer stuff

back when I had my samurai some late night lurking punk un snapped the soft top and stole everything that wasn't bolted down.  :rivers:

I like the hard top..

Like blackdog said its better for sound and the environment and thiefs. I also have AC in my runner so I dont care too much about heat or anything but its just nicer all around IMO

I've always preferred my 4Runner with the hardtop on, I also like my truck with a topper too, mostly cause that's where I sleep on the trail.

for those of you that like hard tops for security check this out.

they sell special lock boxes and things for trucks and jeeps so that you can take your top off and not have to worry about getting anything stolen.
