They are rare I think they made those for only 2 years. I've always wanted one, would be a one of a kind build. I've never seen one built and on a trail.

Yeah they were alot more common up north, in the U.S. there was a big import tax on the 2 doors. It was so high that it was cheaper to buy the 4 door than the 2 door.

I see them quite often here in the Salem OR area, I could have purchased one 2 years ago for $2000 with a rebuilt motor.  I have only seen V6 models and no 4cyl ones.
1986 Toyota 4Runner 22re 5spd transmission and dual transfer cases (4.7's in the rear). E-lockers front and rear.

2005 GMC Sierra diesel, compound turbo setup to pull.

God gave all people talents but the only one who can find them is you.

jimbo74

i have seen a few of them, but they are rare

This is similar to the 2 door short wheelbase Yukons they made for a few years.  If I could find one, it would be my next truck in a couple of years...

This only took forever to find... Built and SAS'd 2nd gen 2door runnah!

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...

Aloha,

Back in 1991 I tried to buy one brand new.   The salesman told me "They no longer made 2 door 4Runners"   So I walked in to the showroom, pick up a sales brochure, opened it up and pointed to the picture of one.   His reply was only to tell me THEY could not be shipped to CAL. for sales.   So, two weeks later I bought a 4 door.

Still think they look good and part of me wishes I could own one to build up for 4 wheeling.   Oh well.

I had a friend here in SoCal that bought a 2 door new in 90 or 91, but they were rare back then. Soccer moms like 4 doors. :driving:
