MC07 Install problems
« on: Aug 25, 2007, 06:15:04 PM »
I got a problem with the installation of my MC07.  I was measuring the endplay between the main 37 tooth (2.28) low range main gear and the end of the main shaft, and there is too much clearance.  It says it should be between .004 and .010, and mines .013.  Would it be alright to run it like that for now, or do I really need to replace the gear?

I can't see a problem with .003", but maybe you should PM CJ at the shop an see what they say.

Ya, I just went ahead with it for now since I'm trying to get this done, so maybe I'll change it later on.  I'll ask him though.  Thanks.

If you get a PM back, please post the info.  I had close to .020" on my MCO7-R10 but went ahead and installed it anyway.  I called and spoke to somebody at the shop and they didn't think it was that critical.  But I cant help but think.... :dunno:. Then why measure it?  I just helped my brother in law assemble his crawler (MC07-R10) last week and it measured right on the money.  :beerchug:

I just had faith in the product and installed it without measuring anything.
If I have a problem down the road, I know I will be taken care of. :yesnod:
