lol, it was turned up all the way.  It isn't as powerful as others but the welds are still strong.  I don't really care about the looks.  A 210 pound guy jumped on it and all it was doing was bending the frame a little back and forth.  the back part it going to hug the tail gate.  Not what i planned on doing but it will have to work.   :smack:

I know your using flux core but you need to clean your welding area  a little and weave your bead in there instead of just running a stringer I think that will help alot. Just weave ((((((((((((((((((((( top to bottom or what ever is comfortable

back part on.  still have a couple more bars to weld on for the back part.  Like i said before i didn't plan on it being that close to the tail gate, but i don't think it looks that bad.  BTw that was a friend welding, i took the picture!

other one.  I kinda go in a lllllllllllllll motion.  The part on top of the round peice to the angle iron was hard to get too.  But i don't think anything will be pulling it down so i won't worry about it.  I have to grind the welds and the spray paint it and it will be done.

welded these two peices on the back part.  that will be the final welds for now.  Just a little more grinding and spray paint and it will be ready for the con.

While you're at it-play around with some tail light protection if you don't think it's too late, I'll post a pic of mine if you want to get some ideas...I might also say that after you grind out those welds, you might consider doing another bead over the top-i'm no welding expert, but grinding a weld can put extra, unneeded heat into the material and weaken it. Actually--now's a good time for somebody to explain that, I've heard it, but I don't necessarily understand it. I also just take people's word for it and get a good penetrating bead and leave it...anyone?

Will you be able to use that bumper if in the future you decide to bob your bed?

Make it so that the round tubing side support can be relocated if you shorten the side runner-section (which you would have to shorten if you bobbed it)

Just some thoughts.....

I would rather build a flatbed then bob it.  But if i were to bob it it would only be about 5 inches shorter, then i could still use the bumper in the same spot.  I already have to ideas about the tail light protection, but it will have to wait untill after memoreila day.
Thanx for the opinions.
