« on: Aug 20, 2007, 07:00:18 AM »

" gotta call Bobby an get a new one ASAP. I'm headed for the DUCY for labor day wknd. this isn't a common thing is it?

breaking longs is not very common, it does happen though.

It is common to have a broken/stripped outer spline if your hub is broken, and that is not warrentied unless you have Longs hubs also.

maybe i misstated it , wat is striped is the inner splines in the birf, and the outer splines on the axle itself. not the splines that my hub slide onto. the hub isn't damaged at all. see, thats wat surprises me is the hub, or even the ausse locker should have gone first. stock hubs make for a good fusible link.

I cracked the splines on the inner star on both my 30 splines causing my inners to spin a spline every now and then.  didn't hurt the inners though.  bobby sent me two brand new birfs.  that was with 37's and a tired 22re.  how old where yours?  where they the first gen ones with the 4340 inner star?

Wow, usually it's the outer splines, the hub, or a R&P/locker.  That's impressive!
