Had a wonderful time guys.  It's my first time running with TTORA and it was great!

I was going to do the medium trails when Jon from AllPro suckered me into doing Dishpan!  I've never been on that trail and heard that it had some challenging spots.  I don't know if I was ready since I didn't have full skids and I'm still on stock tires, but Jon said I should be fine.  What am I to say?  Anyway, arrived at the east end of Dishpan and saw a traffic jam.

He lost the bead in the 2 driver side tires.  After a while we decided to run Holcomb-Jon did anyway.

Ok..  we're going to drive on this?

Jon's answer

I didn't have full skids and really don't like trail repairs so I had lunch while they ran part of the trail.  The trail was being worked on so it was only accessible 1/3 of the way.  Soon, the other group repaired the Rover and joined us at Holcomb trailhead and had lunch.  I got to know a few guys, made some friends and checked out quite a few extremely built rigs.

After about an hour of relaxing, Kenny (92 4Runner) and I thought we'll go back towards Dishpan and see what's going on.  We were going to check it out and see if anyone is running.  I have to say, I was nervous about the trail after seeing the Rover earlier on today.  I didn't want to have to explain any trail carnage to the family.  Since we left for Dishpan after just about everyone has left for a while, we didn't expect to see anyone there.  As luck/fate would have it, there was still a large group of guys there and since I was in the presence of greatness (Mr. Marlin), I couldn't resist.  Marlin Jr. (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) was kind enough to spot me down the waterfall.  Could I have asked for someone more capable?  That group of guy included the Marlins, Jason Demello, Wyatt, Dylan (Donahoe), and a few more guys that I've forgotten the names of...  Anyways, I couldn't pass it up.

Notice where Dylan (Donahoe) is sitting

OMG!!!  Woohoo.  Where did Dylan go?

No no, don't shake it!!!  j/k.

While I had my head cranked to the left and leaning back as far as I can and right foot pegged to the floor, they told me to hold that position while they take pictures-seem like an eternity!

After the waterfall, everything seem easy.  Big thanks to the wonderful Marlins for their help.  I couldn't have done it without you guys-would've even tried.  I cam away with only a few scratches on the rock rails front skid.  I had a great time at this event look forward to more in the future.

Relaxing with the guys at days end.

More pics.

Until next time!

Troy, Great to see you again.  Too bad we didn't get to run together but we had a great time anyway.

Thanks to Marlin, Big Mike, Dave and the rest of the Marlin Crawler crew for a great product and install of the Crawler Box in my '05.  It ran flawlessly the entire weekend and completely changed the personality of my truck.  It walked over everything out there without using either of the lockers and then On Sunday morning, Ben Crocket from 4WD Toyota owners Magazine and myself played on the lower portion of John Bull with street pressure in the tires and open diffs on wet rocks and it just went right up.  Love It.

Thanks Dave, Marlin, Rocky, Angelo, Big Mike, and the rest of the crew.

Here are my pics from the weekend.  Sorry for some of the blurred ones.  Had my 9 year old taking pictures.

Thanks Troy, the crawler made all the difference in the world, then the trac bar has helped with all that axle wrap I had going on and the Toyota drive shafts and flanges are great too.  One of these days we'll actually get to wheel together for an entire run.

My truck is 510:1, but Marlin's truck is 1,372:1.

You know, technically my truck is 510.5289:1, which rounds up to 511:1, but for some reason the first time I did the math 3 years ago I thought it was 510:1, and I've been advertising this for so long that I've just kept that number to preserve credibility.

ya. when I saw BIGMIKE i tho about your rig. wish I had low gears like that. Im stuck with 2;1 :shake:
120 Fabrication

BigMike

The reason why Marlin and I have such low gearing is not just to be ridiculous, but its because our Trucks can demonstrate every available gear ratio combination for potential customers.

For instance, I can show you what stock gearing looks like, what stock dual cases look like, what a single 4.70:1 looks like, and what a Dual Ultimate looks like, simply by using different shifter configurations. Very few trucks can do this, and very few trucks need to do this. In our case it is a great marketing and advertising tool to have.

Awsome trip, I've got video of Marlin walking the crawler, from 1996 I think he was only 1033:1 then.
